1) Message boards : Getting started : not getting work units (Message 948) Posted 13 Oct 2018 by Nethlek Post: ok so apparently this is issue is host specific as my secondary rig got work units immediately. i tried deleting the projects data folder (under programdata -> boinc) and restarting boinc as well as uninstalling and reinstalling (at some point in the past). what else can i do to get work units on my primary rig?
2) Message boards : Getting started : not getting work units (Message 946) Posted 9 Oct 2018 by Nethlek Post: when i first added the project i only wanted to add every project team gridcoin participated in and i forgot to suspend boinc beforehand. i aborted all work units it downloaded and ever since (this was several months ago) i havent been able to download new ones. i would like to start crunching for this project now but i have no idea how to get it to work again, the event log only returns "Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks" any time i hit update. what do i do to fix this?

6) Message boards : Getting started : not getting work units (Message 862) Posted 4 Jul 2018 by Nethlek Post: i joined this project 3 weeks ago but after mucking up the settings i ended up only getting cpu work units when i wanted only gpu wus. i corrected the settings, cancelled the cpu wus and... nothing; i never got another work unit since. i tried removing and re-adding the project as well as resetting it but im still not getting anything. any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it? i assumed i was temp banned for cancelling every wu when i joined but after pming an admin, i was told the problem was definitely on my side. what should i try next?

(Message 861) Posted 4 Jul 2018 by Nethlek Post: assuming you dont already have a 4 figure amount of gridcoin, you will need to join the pool (google for the gridcoin pool and follow the instructions on their setup videos). if you do have already have at least 1k grc (though the generally recommended amount is 2-5k), simply join team gridcoin ( https://sech.me/boinc/Amicable/team_display.php?teamid=1806 ), fully unlock your wallet and send a beacon (in the wallet client under help -> debug window -> console -> enter "advertisebeacon" without quotation marks, but wait until 1 day after your RAC for team gridcoin reaches the 4 digits) and then just keep your wallet client running in the background either fully unlocked or unlocked for staking only (i recommend the latter). you will get payed once you stake a block, which is luck based and more likely the more GRC you have and can take a couple of days or possibly weeks with a low 4 figure amount, but as long as you stake at least once every 6 months you will get payed everything you're owed. mind, staking to get paid is only required if you crunch solo; you dont need to keep your wallet running if you're joining the pool, which will pay out daily. unfortunately only credits earned for team gridcoin (or the pool) will count and keep in mind we use RAC to determine who is owed what, so the first week or two your earnings will be low, especially the first few days.
