Work always takes longer to run when nearing the end of a number search.

Here is an explanation I could find from lower in thread from Sergei as to why tasks are taking longer to run

The need for CPU time increases while the GPU uses only 10 % of its computation capabilities. (on my P5000 and 1080's)

You are correct, Amicable Numbers has slowed down. Over the past week, the task average runtime has increased from 2.7 hours to 3.3 hours.

I have been experiencing the same issue for some time now. Without any change to my BOINC-Settings, my computer has been calculating a recent task for 8 hours, showing only a progress of 0,488%. Some days ago, I cancelled another task because remaining calculation time was calculated to be ridiculous 25 days. Until 22 July, any work unit had been computed in ~95,000 secs with a credit of ~6,836. I joined the project a month ago.
