Hello! Hope everyone is keeping safe! Back after a while - or at least lurking - and have a question or two. I vaguely remember on my Ryzen 1800x with 16 GB of ram, tasks were climbing up to around the 10-13 gb threshhold. I also have an AMD RX 570 and have since upgraded this machine to 32 GB of ram. Is that enough to work on 16 threads as well as a GPU task concurrently? How is credit calculated? Do GPU tasks get more credit than CPU? I have a lot more CPU power than GPU - I do have a dual Xeon 5650 machine with only 16 gb of ram so I'm doubtful it would be able to contribute much here given the high ram requirements and its 24 threads. Is ram required based on number of concurrent threads (this is multi threaded if I remember right and viewing the application list)? thank you for any help. Just want to make sure I'll contribute as much as possible rather than erroring out a bunch of tasks. I have Boinc allowed to use up to 90% memory, virtual and actual. thanks! |
