Hello, another problem with the multithreaded WUs is, that these do not respond when the maximum % of CPUs to be used is reduced. This is very annoying. When I use my computer I reduce the maximum CPU usage for responsiveness. The multithreaded WU's are not paused and the CPU usage remains at 100%. This is also annoying. Is there any advantage of multi-threaded WUs or do these just disable standard BOINC features (CPU limit) and block CPU cores when finishing unsynchronized? If not, please disable them. Kind Regards |

Hello again, I found a simple solution for my problem: there is a <<Max # CPUs>> setting in the Amicable Numbers preferences. Setting this to a low value like 2 solves the problem for me. Nevertheless the high core count WUs should be paused, when the boinc preferences do not allow such high CPU usage. Kind Regards |
