Hi, I joined the project via BOINC Manager and it seemed to work. I got a new CPID on Amicable, however, so now the project is not shown on BOINCStats together with the other projetcs I participate in. Is there a way to change the CPID? Cheers |

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Cross-project_identification Each host generates an internal cross-project ID, which is the MD5 of the concatenation of its domain name, IP address, free disk space, and a timestamp. This is reported to the projects to which the host is attached. The projects convert it to an external cross-project ID by hashing it with the owner's email address (this is intended to prevent spoofing). The external ID is exported in statistics files. So, the question is then: did you use the same e-mail address as you use for other projects? P.S. Yes, you can change CPID by changing e-mail address in your account settings. |

Yes, I did. Is there a way to delete the account on Amicable and try again? Or better even - to change the CPID? Cheers Holger |

The only way to change CPID is to change e-mail address in settings. |

OK, I changed the email adress to something else and back again. Unfortunately, the CPID ist still different than in the other projects.... Is anyting else on my side influencing the CPID? EDIT: BOINC Wiki says to wait a few days - the accounts will merge. I'll see :-) |

Yes, CPID is hashed from 2 parts: 1) CPID sent by your BOINC client 2) Your e-mail address If you set the same address on all your projects and then update all your projects in your BOINC client, it should be fixed. You need to explicitly update project in BOINC client - it will contact project scheduler, and project scheduler will update CPID. |
