Probably not an issue for most but the wimpy Quadro FX 1800 I have in one of my test boxes isn't good enough for this project.

My GTX980 has been working for the last two days and still there is any GTX980 listed at GPU MODELS for Linux.
Is the list generated automatically? I am just curious how does it compare to newer GTX10x0..

There is a bug in that script, I'm fixing it now.

Runs okay on my 2 Nvidia cards, the 1080 Laptop runs them in about 5-11 Min's. I stopped them running on my AMD though, the gpu fan was just screaming & it was way to hot & eventually blue screened the box so I'll stick with cpu work on that box ...

I'm getting the opposite on my 7970, it's running very cool but it seems under-worked. I'm seeing 99% utilization but only 67c on the core. Voltage and clocks are constant. On the other hand I feel like it's running slower than it should compared to other cards; I'm seeing times around:

7970: ~2000sec avg
270x: ~3000sec avg
750ti: ~2400sec avg

Seems like my ATI cards are under performing.

I backed the Voltage & Clock/Memory speeds on the 7970 I have & it seems to be doing better, ran all night at least in the 1800-2700 Second area ... My 1080 Laptop still beats that by quit a bit 350-700 Second Range & that's under clocked too to keep the fan noise & temp's down ...

Seems to be running okay, it's not over heating running under 80* Fan's normal speed. I slowed it down a little more & will see what happens if to many errors I'll shut it down ... Could be a Validation error ???

Must have a missing Amicable Number in the GPU Software ... lol

I'll stop running them on that GPU, looks like it's going to spit out more bad ones than good ones ...

I have 8 more ATI Wu's on that Box yet that I'm going to run out & see if they fail or not running them @ Normal speed. As long as the fan doesn't act up I'll run them out & then stop on that 7970 GPU until I see if they pass or not. I wrote the # of the Wu's down so will have to wait & see once they Validate or not ...

After 10 successful WUs on the 750ti it's about 3300s per WU.

I had some really old drivers in the 7970 because I hadn't been running it for the last few years probably, they were 13.xx something. I installed newer 17.2.1 drivers & will see if that helps on the error's ...

Please set the Deadline up to 5 Days.

I can only crunch more hours at the weekend.

It's not a problem if some of your tasks miss deadline - they will just be sent again to someone else. Or you can just abort unstarted tasks when you stop crunching. I prefer short deadlines because I don't want the other cruncher on the same WU to wait a week until he/she gets credit for that WU.

One of my desktops (ID 997) has been banned, and for good reason. CPU units run on it were all fine. GPU units run all failed. Since the GPU actually does good work on other projects (Collatz, PrimeGrid, Einstein, but not GPUGrid), i suspect the driver. This machine used to have a GTS 250. I didn't change the driver, since it seemed to work. It's running Linux Mint 13, which goes out of support in a couple months. Since changing the driver is such a pain, the plan was to deal with it on the OS upgrade. This GTX 650 ti is returning units in 3 to 5 minutes, which is insane. There's no way it's that fast. I've never seen a GPU fail other than instantly before. I've got a GTX 950 which isn't that fast on Amicable. If you look at the project stats by card, the 650ti looks hot. I'm guessing it's my machine turning in quick units. It should be possible to code the stats page to only look at valid results... though that's a different issue.

I won't be testing this desktop's GPU until i've addressed the driver issue. I'm not planning to use the CPU anytime soon. But it could be unbanned.

BTW, the CPU is an AMD A8. I've tried all sorts of things to try to get its APU (on-chip GPU) to run BOINC under Linux. It will drive the screen, and does smooth 1080p video. But i've had no luck with the APU, even after uninstalling the nVidia driver and installing the AMD driver. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has gotten this to work. We've got an A10 with Win 10 in the house, which crunches just fine on the APU.

I'm excited by having another GPU project available. I'll continue contributing with the 950 for now.

Lately, i've been looking at a newish computer language: Julia. It has good math support, great parallelization support, great vector support, and claims to support video cards, and even the Arm DSP (which is used as a video card for smart phones, etc.) Amicable's launch, then quick video card launch sounds like it could have been implemented in Julia. If so, it'd be great to see an Arm app. A few Arm apps have talked about supporting the DSP soon.
