I've added a few more work units to the test. You should get some tasks soon. |

Thanks ! I got 4 of them, behaviour is consistent - full CPU at beginning (during 1mn) - less than 10% average CPU usage (of one CPU thread) - above 80% average of GPU use - 2.5 GB of RAM used - 30% of 16 GB GPU memory used - stable over time - first one completed successfully after 16mn I let the mac crunch only on these for the moment (I suspended primegrid). |

It's good that macOS application works because I don't have any Mac around to test it. If you want to get 100% consistent GPU load, you'll need to run 2 tasks in parallel - you have enough GPU memory for this. |

For this I'd need more test tasks (they are all consumed now) and be at home to play with app_config. I can see 10,277 GigaFLOPS were generated for 3.06 (opencl_amd) macOS after you generated the tasks, so it's nice to see effective test data have been crunched :) |

OBTW Mac Users.... BOINC Version 7.24.3 Recommended version (MacOS 10.13+) Was released on 30 Jan 2024 This version fixes a problem that causes GPU apps to fail after a Mac OS upgrade to Sonoma Bill F |

OBTW Mac Users.... Thanks, Bill F. Will make sure to upgrade BOINC before I migrate to Sonoma. |

OBTW Mac Users.... Yep I've seen that but I've been with Sonoma for quite a good time and I don't think I've had issue with GPU tasks (AFAIK), so maybe the problem only applies to certains projects/tasks/conditions ? I've not upgraded my boinc yet, but thanks for the info anyway. |

It will be very interesting to see how long Part 3 takes to complete! |

With part 3 is there going to be any change to the credit awarded? |

With part 3 is there going to be any change to the credit awarded? I hope so. My RAC is dropping like a stone! <g> |

With part 3 is there going to be any change to the credit awarded? Have a read of the following thread https://sech.me/boinc/Amicable/forum_thread.php?id=298 I think it will help explain about why your RAC is dropping |

Credit per task will remain the same but tasks will be smaller than we have right now. |

Sergei, Have you slipped a few whooper tasks in the latest batch? I've got some extremely long running WUs (>2 hrs) Steve |

Which WUs, can you give a link? Some WUs are longer than others, sometimes many times longer. Thankfully, part 3 WUs are much more uniform, and it will start in about a week from now. |

Sergei feel free to have a look at these https://sech.me/boinc/Amicable/result.php?resultid=75231602 ran for 39 minutes 23 seconds & https://sech.me/boinc/Amicable/result.php?resultid=75212364 ran for 41 minutes 35 seconds. Could it be these are not suited well to a 4080? 2nd task was paired with a 3080 in a laptop and ran for around 15 minutes |

A couple of examples; I have more: amicable_10_21_14995_171119302.464452_958_0 amicable_10_21_18302_1711125302.366293_68_3 Looking at my other machines, it seems that those WUs beginning with "amicable_10_21_18302_1711125302.366293" are the ones taking an inordinate amount of time. Steve |
