I've recently had several CPU jobs that (would) have taken 2 or 3+ days to complete (the original estimate is just over 1 day). But I'm being sent several at a time. and the deadline is always 5 days from from when I'm sent them. So there is no way I can complete them all within that timescale (as I have several other projects running at the same time), so they start, overrun and the result is then irrelevant. So the deadline for CPU tasks needs to be raised considerably from the current 5 days. |

same here i have a ARM cloud VM that i dedicate to running boinc and amicable tasks need more time before deadline. the current task started on monday apr 8 4:30pm with a deadline of saturday apr 13 4:30pm. it has been running for 116 hours (so about 4.8 days) it still needs 13 more hours to complete but the deadline is in 1.5 hours |

A single-core ARM cloud VM is too weak for this. These WUs were tuned to be not too fast on the fastest GPUs (2 minutes per WU on RTX 4090), and not too slow on Raspberry Pi 4. Quad-core cloud VM can finish WUs in less than 5 days: https://sech.me/boinc/Amicable/result.php?resultid=76421032 |
