Profile: Laurent Lyaudet

Your personal background.
I have a PhD in theoretical computer science, graph theory and algorithmic complexity.
I'm now fullstack dev but I still do science, writing scientific articles as a hobby.
And I'm glad I can use my current laptop to help some scientific projects ;
because most of the time, the computer hardware is under-used by our day to day computing, which is a waste.
Your opinions about Amicable Numbers
I use Amicable Numbers to help research.

My point of view about Amicable Numbers is that it is probably not the most useful research topic to help fight against climate change or cancer, etc.
Hence, it is probably not a good topic to show off with your friends or in a party ;) XD
But who knows what interesting mathematical discovery could be made along the way of the study of amicable numbers.
Moreover, my laptop has an 8th gen i7 which is not very powerful when you look at the top of the stats,
but since Amicable Numbers do use GPUs and my GTX 1660 Ti is not that bad, especially compared to a CPU, I can manage to contribute efficiently.
More projects of BOINC should make use of the GPUs (when it is possible).
