Your sig only shows one - THAT, I could live with. What that one MEANS (yours is "Sc" at the moment, Scandium) I have no clue.

Not that it matters, except maybe to me, the Sc badge is 19.5M credits. I have 144 other badges/trophies from POGs ... that is beyond ridiculous! :)

With regards to AN I think that 2 badges might be appropriate - one for credits since that is the norm and a 2nd for found pairs since that is the ultimate goal of the project. The reason for the 1st is because a lot of work is actually being done eliminating numbers that don't produce pairs.

You can see your pogs badges here as well as which galaxies you've helped process etc. The site requires registration but tinfoil hats are easy to make ;)

Good grief. I have 46 badges there. Just NO!!!

I've added 3 badges:
1) For discovering 100 amicable pairs
2) For discovering 1000 amicable pairs
3) For discovering 10000 amicable pairs

Each badge replaces the previous one once a user reaches the next milestone.

Note: badge images are placeholders for now. If you have better ideas - don't be silent.

May I suggest something here about the points and badges? I would prefer a system based on 100, 200, 500,1000, 2000,5000,10000, points/pairs awarded etc for reaching the next milestone, so this kind of balance between waiting too long for the new badge and don't make it too easy to get a new one. Just my 2 cents.

Great to see progress on the badge front! A few suggestions however...

If it is not too much trouble, I would suggest using the standard bronze, silver, gold for the first three badges.
Also, I agree with pututu regarding the levels chosen. Not all users have GPUs and can imagine users with a single slower dual or quad core machine even becoming discouraged at the distance to the next badge level. Reasonably obtainable badge levels encourage many users to stick around.

BTW: In my opinion, the badges don't need to be works of art. A simple representation of contribution is fine with me.

So just add badges for 200, 500, 2000 and 5000 amicable pairs found? This is possible, but I just need to select 7 different colors for all the badges.

I'm going to differ on the color idea... Standard color badges for CREDITS, yes; for pairs found, why? The number is already in the badge, I kind of like the idea of one that says "this is project-specific" - and I like the color you picked. (The maroon "100" level.) "Standard" colors are probably the ones PrimeGrid uses, although many projects have slight variations.

I do like the idea of more levels. The more the better - keeps interest up.

The badges are good and a points total one would also be nice, but as I am only CPU currently, nearly any badge will be a long distant goal which I may or may not reach.
When my overall total is equalled per day by each of the top 20 volunteers, I know I am not in their league.
But I will still add my little trickle of data as I am sure it will add to the overall progress of the project.

The ones that can reach the various badge levels, go for it, I say.

You can surely reach "100 amicable pairs" badge, especially now: current WUs have a bit higher density of amicable pairs.

Added 4 more badges: for discovering 200, 500, 2000 and 5000 amicable pairs. So each next milestone is 2 or 2.5 times more than the previous one.

I am trying, so far I have just 20, so still some more work to do to get to 100.

After 150,000 points I have 20,
so after 300,000 may have 40, after 1,200,000 I may have 80 and I may get 100 after 1,350,000 points

Of course that is not how they come about but it still means some work ahead for me anyway.
I have made a couple of setting changes so I will see what happens.

They are not consistent with credits - it's the "luck of the draw", I suppose.

After 357,000 credits I have found 377 pairs...

Looks that this is the case. I have joined yesterday. Now I have ~340k credits and 15 pairs. I also suspect that it was much easier to find pairs in the past.

They come in waves, yes. But there are almost 500,000 undiscovered pairs left in the range, and each discovered pair counts for two people, so 1,000,000 "points" for the badges left.
